TESTIFY 6-Day Devotional
These songs were written as more than melodies - they are moments of encounter. Each one carries a truth about who God is and an invitation to respond to Him in a deeper way. This devotional is designed to help you slow down, reflect, and connect those lyrics to the Word of God and your everyday life. Whether you’re in a season of joy, struggle, or waiting, there is something here for you. My prayer is that as you read, you don’t just think about God - you experience Him.
Day 1: Worship - How Can We Not

Scriptures:
“Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe.” — Hebrews 12:28 (NIV)
“Trust in Him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to Him, for God is our refuge.” — Psalm 62:8 (NIV)
“And the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.” — Matthew 27:51 (NIV)
Devotional:
There are moments in life when fear feels louder than faith - when the night seems long, and your strength feels gone. In those moments, it’s easy to shrink back, to question, to hesitate. But even there, God invites us to trust - not in what we see or feel, but in His unchanging Word.
The lyrics of “How Can We Not” echo this truth: “When fear surrounds me… I will trust in Your word.” Trust is not the absence of fear; it’s the decision to believe God is still faithful in the middle of it.
And then everything shifts.
Because of Jesus, we are no longer separated from God. The veil is torn. The curse is broken. What once kept us at a distance has been removed forever. We don’t come to God empty - we come overflowing, filled with His peace, His presence, and His promise.
So the question becomes unavoidable: How can we not respond?
How can we not fall in His presence when He has drawn near to us?
How can we not stand in His grace when He has freely given it?
How can we not surrender when He gave everything for us?
Worship is no longer just a moment - it’s the only fitting response to a life transformed by grace.
And it’s not just us. All of creation is being called into this song - into this holy gathering of praise before God. Heaven and earth echo the same name: Jesus.
Today, whatever you’re facing - fear, weariness, uncertainty - choose to trust. Let that trust lead you into surrender. And let your surrender turn into worship. After all, our worship here on earth is just practice for eternity.
Because when you truly see who He is and what He’s done…
how can you not?
Reflection Questions:
-
What fears or uncertainties are you currently facing, and how can you choose to trust God in them today?
-
What does it personally mean for you that “the veil is torn” and you have direct access to God?
-
In what areas of your life is God inviting you to fully surrender to Him?
-
How can you intentionally respond in worship - not just in song, but in your daily life this week?
Prayer:
Jesus, I choose to trust You, even when fear surrounds me and I feel weak. Thank You for tearing the veil and making a way for me to come close to You. Fill me with Your peace until I overflow with Your presence. Teach me to fully surrender every part of my life to You. Let my life be a response of worship - honoring You in all I do.
In Your name, Amen.
Day 2: Mountains & Valleys - Wherever I Go

Scriptures:
“Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?” — Psalm 139:7 (NIV)
“And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” — Matthew 28:20 (NIV)
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life… neither height nor depth… will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” — Romans 8:38–39 (NIV)
Devotional:
There’s a promise that changes everything:
You are not alone.
Not sometimes.
Not when life is easy.
Not only when you feel it.
Always.
The lyrics declare this truth with confidence: “You are with me wherever I go.” That’s not just a comforting thought - it’s a defining truth for every believer.
God is not distant. He is not waiting somewhere far off for you to find your way back. He is your shelter, your fortress, your peace, present in every moment, in every place.
From the highest highs to the lowest lows… He is there.
In the victories.
In the uncertainty.
In the moments you feel strong.
And in the ones where you feel like you’re barely holding on.
And here’s what makes that promise even more powerful:
It doesn’t depend on you!
“No matter where I run to… Your love remains.”
Even when you wander.
Even when you question.
Even when you feel far from God - He has not moved.
Scripture reminds us that nothing can separate us from His love. No failure, no fear, no circumstance, no power of darkness. The same God who has been faithful through the ages is still faithful now - and He will be faithful tomorrow.
That means you don’t have to strive for His presence.
You don’t have to earn His nearness.
You simply have to become AWARE of it.
So wherever you find yourself today - whether it feels like a mountaintop or a valley - take a moment to pause and remember:
He is with you.
Right now.
Right here.
And He’s not going anywhere.
Reflection Questions:
-
In what area of your life do you most need to be reminded that God is with you right now?
-
Have you been living as if God is distant, or as if He is present and near?
-
What fears or uncertainties can you release, knowing that nothing can separate you from His love?
-
How can you practice becoming more aware of God’s presence throughout your day?
Prayer:
God, thank You that You are always with me, no matter where I go or what I face. Help me to trust in Your presence even when I don’t feel it. Remind me that nothing can separate me from Your love. Be my shelter, my peace, and my strength in every season. Teach me to walk daily with the confidence that You are right here with me.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Day 3: Abiding - What Else Do I Need

Scriptures:
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” — Psalm 23:1 (ESV)
“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28–29 (ESV)
“He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all… how will he not also… graciously give us all things?” — Romans 8:32 (ESV)
Devotional:
There’s a quiet invitation in the heart of God:
“Come sit with Me.”
Not to strive.
Not to perform.
Just to be.
It’s that sacred moment, just between you and Him: “Can I sit with You a while… and worship at Your feet?” It’s a posture we often overlook in a world that constantly pushes us to chase more, do more, and be more.
But in His presence, everything changes.
The noise fades.
The striving stops.
And clarity comes.
Because the truth is, what we’re really searching for has never been found in more things, more success, or more recognition. It’s found in Him.
“My holy treasure… what else do I need?”
Jesus extends this same invitation in Matthew 11: Not just to come, but to rest. To exchange the weight we’ve been carrying for His peace. To learn a different rhythm - one marked by grace, not pressure.
And in that place of abiding, something powerful happens:
You begin to realize you’re not lacking.
“I have everything I need… I lack no good thing.”
It doesn’t mean life is perfect. It means your source is secure. It means that in Christ, your deepest needs - love, purpose, peace, belonging - are already met.
The world will always try to convince you that you need more.
But the presence of God reminds you of what’s already yours.
So today, pause.
Sit with Him.
Breathe in His presence.
Rest in His love.
Because when you truly encounter Jesus - not just in passing, but in the stillness - you’ll find yourself asking a question that changes everything:
What else do I need?
And the answer will always be the same.
Nothing… but Him.
Reflection Questions:
-
What are you currently chasing or relying on that may be distracting you from simply resting in God’s presence?
-
What does it look like for you to intentionally “sit with Jesus” in your daily life?
-
Do you truly believe that in Christ you “lack no good thing”? Why or why not?
-
How might your perspective shift if you lived from a place of fullness instead of striving?
Prayer:
Jesus, thank You that You are everything I need. Forgive me for the times I’ve looked elsewhere for fulfillment or tried to carry things on my own. Teach me to slow down and rest in Your presence. Help me to trust that in You, I lack nothing. Fill my heart with Your peace and remind me daily that You are my greatest treasure.
In Your name, Amen.
Day 4: Don't Keep It In - Release the Song

Scripture:
“Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.” — Psalm 150:6 (NIV)
“Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” — John 7:38 (ESV)
“Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth.” — Psalm 96:1 (NIV)
Devotional:
There is a song inside of you.
Not just a melody - but a response. A stirring. A holy overflow that was placed within you by God Himself. “It’s welling within us… the power of the Holy Ghost.”
The Spirit of God doesn’t sit quietly within us. He moves. He fills. He overflows.
And when He does, something begins to rise - praise that cannot stay silent.
Too often, we hold it back. We overthink. We compare. We wonder if our voice matters, if our worship is enough, if our expression is too loud or not polished enough.
But the truth is this: What God has placed inside of you was never meant to be contained.
“He won’t be restrained… He can’t be contained.”
When the Holy Spirit fills a life, it doesn’t lead to silence - it leads to surrender, expression, and bold worship. Jesus said that rivers of living water would flow from within us. Rivers don’t trickle quietly; they move with power and purpose!
So the invitation is simple, but powerful:
“Breathe in… let it out.”
Receive His presence. Release your praise.
This is bigger than a moment - it’s a movement. All creation is already responding. Heaven is already singing. And you’ve been invited into that sound.
Your voice matters. Your worship matters. Your song carries something unique that no one else can release.
And when you choose to lift it, something shifts.
Strongholds break.
Truth rises.
Freedom is declared.
So don’t keep it in.
Don’t wait for the perfect moment.
Sing it from the mountains.
Shout it in the valley.
Release the song God has placed inside of you!
Reflection Questions:
-
In what ways have you been holding back your worship or expression of praise?
-
What does it look like for you personally to “release your song” in this season?
-
How have you experienced the Holy Spirit moving in your life recently?
-
What strongholds or fears could be broken as you boldly choose to worship?
Prayer:
Holy Spirit, thank You for placing Your power and presence within me. Forgive me for the times I’ve held back or stayed silent when You were calling me to respond. Fill me again until my life overflows with praise. Give me boldness to release the song You’ve placed inside of me - without fear, without hesitation. Let my worship bring glory to You and break through anything that stands in the way.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Day 5: Take It Back - Enemy's Camp

Scripture:
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” — John 10:10 (NIV)
“I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten…” — Joel 2:25 (ESV)
“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies… my cup overflows.” — Psalm 23:5 (NIV)
Devotional:
Loss has a way of lingering.
Sometimes it’s obvious - things taken, opportunities missed, seasons that feel stolen. Other times it’s deeper: Joy that faded, hope that dimmed, faith that once felt childlike but now feels distant.
“Enemy’s Camp” names it honestly: “All that’s been plundered and stripped away…”
But it doesn’t stop there.
Because the truth of the Gospel is not just that the enemy steals - it’s that God restores.
Jesus was clear in John 10:10: The enemy’s agenda is destruction, but God’s mission is abundant life. That means what was taken doesn’t have the final word. What was broken doesn’t stay broken. What felt lost is not beyond redemption.
There is a holy boldness that rises up when you begin to believe that.
“So I’m going into the enemy’s camp…”
This isn’t about striving in your own strength - it’s about standing in the authority Jesus has already given you. It’s about refusing to agree with the lies and choosing instead to walk in truth. You don’t fight for victory - you fight from it.
God is not just patching things up. He is restoring, redeeming, and making whole. He fills what was empty until your cup doesn’t just refill - it overflows.
And as He restores, something shifts in your heart:
You stop mourning what was lost and start proclaiming what’s been won!
Heaven joins in. Worship rises.
“Hallelujah” becomes your declaration - not because everything was easy, but because God was faithful.
So today, don’t settle for what’s been stolen.
Don’t make peace with what God has promised to restore.
Step forward in faith.
Take hold of His promises.
And declare victory - because in Jesus, it already belongs to you!
Reflection Questions:
-
What is something in your life that feels like it has been “stolen” or lost in this season?
-
How does knowing God is a restorer (not just a comforter) change your perspective?
-
Are there lies from the enemy you’ve been agreeing with that you need to replace with God’s truth?
-
What would it look like for you to walk in victory today instead of waiting for your circumstances to change?
Prayer:
God, You see every place in my life that feels broken, empty, or stolen. Thank You that You are not distant from those places - you are my Restorer. Help me to stand in the victory Jesus has already won and to reject every lie of the enemy. Fill me again until my cup overflows with Your goodness and mercy. Teach me to walk boldly in Your promises and to declare Your faithfulness with my life.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Day 6: I Will Testify

Scripture:
“Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story—those He redeemed from the hand of the foe.” — Psalm 107:2 (NIV)
“They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony…” — Revelation 12:11 (NIV)
“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” — John 8:36 (NIV)
Devotional:
There’s something powerful about a testimony.
It’s not just words - it’s evidence. Proof that God is still moving, still saving, still breaking chains.
When you’ve experienced the goodness of God, silence doesn’t make sense anymore. “We raise a shout… we gotta testify.”
But sometimes we hesitate.
We wonder if our story matters.
We hold back because of shame.
We stay quiet out of fear of what others might think.
But the lyrics to this song declare a different reality: “We’re not afraid to follow… no longer bound by our shame.”
That’s the Gospel.
Jesus didn’t just forgive you - He freed you! The chains didn’t just loosen… they hit the ground. Shame no longer gets a voice in your story. Fear no longer gets the final word.
And when that truth sinks in, something rises up within you - a boldness that says, I’m not staying silent anymore.
Because your testimony isn’t about having a perfect story. It’s about pointing to a perfect Savior.
Scripture tells us that we overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony. That means your voice carries power. When you declare what God has done, it doesn’t just remind you - it strengthens others.
It becomes a weapon against darkness.
A light for someone else’s path.
A shout of victory that echoes beyond your own life.
So don’t keep it in!
If He’s been faithful, say it!
If He’s brought freedom, declare it!
If He’s changed your life, testify!
Join the sound of heaven.
Lift your voice with the angels.
Let the redeemed tell their story.
Because when God has been that good…
how can you keep it quiet?
Reflection Questions:
-
What is one specific thing God has done in your life that you can testify about?
-
Is there any fear or shame that has been keeping you from sharing your story?
-
How could your testimony encourage or impact someone else this week?
-
What would it look like for you to live with an “I WILL TESTIFY” mindset daily?
Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for the freedom You’ve given me and for the story You’re writing in my life. Break every chain of fear and shame that tries to keep me silent. Give me boldness to share what You’ve done and to lift my voice in praise. Let my testimony bring glory to You and point others to Your goodness. I choose to testify - because You’ve been so good.
In Your name, Amen.
As you come to the end of this devotional, remember that these truths don’t stay on the page - they go with you. The same God you encountered here is present in your everyday moments, inviting you to trust, worship, surrender, and testify. Let these songs continue to echo in your heart, shaping the way you live and respond to Him. Keep leaning in, keep listening, and keep saying yes to His voice. And wherever you go, may your life reflect His goodness and glory.
